Info: The Black Belt Symposium is on April 5 at the University of West Alabama campus in Livingston. Irene Latham (author of Leaving Gee’s Bend, the 2010 novel about quilting, family, and coming of age in rural Alabama in 1932) will present a poetry workshop just prior to dinner on Wednesday, April 4, and she’ll be delivering her keynote address at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 5 (after a luncheon and Q&A about Leaving Gee’s Bend with area schoolchildren).
