2014 County Grants:

The University of West Alabama through its Center for the Study of the Black Belt in the Division of Educational Outreach will once again offer $500 per county to stimulate ideas and projects in the fifth annual Alabama Black Belt Heritage Area County Grant Program. Please circulate the attached grant form with organizations and sites that have ideas for the reimbursable $500 start-up grant in the 19 counties of the Black Belt. A diverse selection of projects will be selected that represent the Alabama Black Belt Heritage Area's mission to partner with local communities, state agencies, and non-profit organizations to shape a sustainable future for the Black Belt region through the preservation, interpretation, and marketing of unique, historical, and natural assests, and to create a better quality of life for its residents through education and the development of community capacity and pride.

The forms are due to The Center for the Study of the Black Belt (mailing/e-mail address listed at bottom of form) by Monday, December 2nd. Please download the 2014 Project Form from the link below.
